Right Stuf have set up a
dairy for the Producer to write his comments on how the Karekano dub is going. Check it out. ^_^

The Karekano manga looks like it's been picked up again by MIXX, for real this time. It will still be called "He says / She Says" and will be added to the monthly SMILE anthology. Let's cross our fingers and hope they do a good/decent/readable job. The series is due to begin running early next year.

The release date for Right Stuf's Karekano has been shifted
again, release is forecast for September 2001. It appears
that difficulties in keeping up with translations are
increasing the translation time.

Typing around the Rightstuf message board a few days ago generated this response concerning Kare Kano's intended release:
"We are going to try to have a simultaneous release of Dub and Sub (Don't be surprised if that will fall through, I won't be). Release time is unknown at this time (Speculations say First quarter or second quarter 2001 for the first release). Well if you have any other Kare Kanno questions, let me know. Thanks. Our beloved Karekano manga has been picked up for English release. Some may cringe, when I say this, but it's been picked up by MIXX. The english title given at present is "He Says / She Says". I'm very happy that the manga has been picked up, but as always I'm a little nervous about what MIXX will be doing with it. The given title, for a start is something I'm sure will be debated. Personally, I think they've had some ups and downs with their translations, so everybody cross their fingers. ^_~ Release is slated for October this year. For more information you can visit
MIXX. Look under the new titles section.
Thanks to
Lauren for letting me know about this. *bows low*

It looks like there's some new scraps of news reguarding KK's distribution. ^^
"U.S. Anime licensing giant, ADV Films announced on Thursday, a distribution deal for the entire catalog of films for The Right Stuf International Inc. Among the The Right Stuf Inc.'s licenses are Osamu Tezukas's Kimba The White Lion, Studio Gainax's Kareshi No Kanajo No Jijou, and The Irresponsible Captain Tylor. "

New news!!! ^_^ I, it's been a long time since I wrote anything reguarding this. But that's 'cause I hadn't heard any news floating around. However
Steve Murdock has e-mailed Right Stuf and gotten the below reply:
Hi,
Thank you for your e-mail. So far no details have been released even to us employees regarding Kare Kano as we are calling it. If it follows the usual process we will release it first in subtitled then dubbed. No release date has been set at this time. As more information becomes available, we will post it on our website. If there is anything else we can help you with, feel free to e-mail us or call us at 1-800-338-6827.
Thanks, JAB/TRSI Customer Service
So it looks like we'll still have to wait on news for when the actual release date is. But here's hoping it's not too far away. ^^

Well, I don't know about you, but I really didn't expect Karekano to be translated commercially anytime soon, if at all. Partly because it's still relatively new. But
Venkarel has very kindly tipped me off, and has given me some relevant links and *clichéd drum roll begins* Karekano has been picked up by a company by the name of "Right Stuf". ^^
The news was announced by Jeff Thompson (a member of the staff involved) at the Neko-Con. Right Stuf have also announced the news on their
website. It looks like the expected release time for North America fall for the year 2000. As yet I haven't heard anything about whether the show will be dubbed, subbed or both. The company has picked up the rights for both the VSH and DVD formats.

Personally, I really don't know much about this company. But I've been assured by a number of people that if anyone's going to translate the show properly then it's Right Stuf. ^^. I'm also told that they're relatively cheap. So I must say, that on my part at least, I'm really excited by the news (
nothing can bring me down today). If the tapes make it all the way to Australia then I'll definately be putting them on my shopping list.
More information will be posted here as it becomes available. If you know anything I don't about this then by all means,
e-mail me and let me know.
